Iced Teeccino with Cinnamon, Honey and Almond Milk


I LOVE coffee! A coffee a day is definitely one of the things that brings me a lot of pleasure.  Since being pregnant I have missed my morning coffee so much until I discovered Teeccino thanks to Laura Mensen.  Teeccino is a nutritious blend of Mediterranean herbs, grains, fruits and nuts that are roasted and ground to brew and taste like coffee.  It tastes absolutely delicious with a dash of freshly made almond milk and since it’s made with dates and figs, I find it sweet enough to not need to add anything else to it.  It’s not quite coffee, but it does have something about it that offers that comforting bitter taste and the best bit is that I can still enjoy my ritual of using my aeropress to brew it 🙂

Thanks to Laura once again, I got the idea of adding ice, cinnamon, honey and almond milk to my teeccino for a deliciously refreshing drink to slurp on.  I enjoy making one in the afternoon as a nice little natural pick me up.



Almond Milk

To make:

Simply filter your teeccino the way you like.  I use an aeropress, but you can also use a regular cafetiere or even percolator.  Melt the honey in your freshly brewed teeccino (make sure it’s not too hot or the properties of the honey will alter) and sprinkle in the cinnamon to your desired taste.  Pour this into your serving cup with ice and almond milk.  Enjoy!
